The UK allows dual nationality, meaning you don’t have to give up your original citizenship when becoming British (although some countries don’t allow dual citizenship always check your home country’s rules first).
The Home Office checks how many days you spent outside the UK in the qualifying period. Exceeding the limits may lead to refusal unless exceptional circumstances apply.
